Dear lord Midterms have been kicking mine and Cvpcs’s ass… to the point that cvpcs disappeared without warning, due to studying etc… people are getting antsy for a release but that will come in due time now that cvp is getting back in the groove, midterms aren’t over for him jsut the hard ones are… thankfully midterms ARE over for me.
one cool thing is that we have managed to get a couple more members to join the team. Birdman and Slayher, which is awesome! lord knows we needed the help!
Otherwise school has been going pretty well i am on track to get an A in math, and i dunno what i am getting in CS but it should be good 
well, as school rocks on, I am now remembering why I only took two classes.
CS106 Python
I am excelling as expected, I’m gaining more and more confidence with my programming as I am forced to actually program vs. trying to understand what someone else has written and not screw it up. During lab today one of our in-class assignments was to move text to the right a total of 70 spaces including the text that we originally typed. I was one of the few people to actually finish that assignment, the instructor after seeing it mumbled instead of hard coding the total of 70 spaces why don’t you see if you can make it a variable. After a little API searching and about 5 min of screwing with variable names so that it would be easier to understand for someone walking up to see the code I had done just that, and got an ooohhh from the instructor… not that i wanted a piece of candy or anything but it was nice to know he approved.
Mth105 pre-cal
how can i say this? ouch? i missed the first day of class due to a time error on my part. technically i should have been dropped from the course. i showed up for the lab class and spoke to the instructor thankfully he had not turned any of his paperwork in so i was able to continue in the course. that day i managed to finish both the homework and quiz before leaving for home, and within 10 min of the official lab time ending. This week rolls around i go to class tuesday, thankfully i am a manga/anime fan that like subtitles and understanding someone with a heavy japanese accent isn’t that difficult to understand(i kinda feel sorry for the other students), the problem is the speed at which he must go to cover the required materials on time. last weeks quiz and homework were a refresher from highschool days… not even the WSCC college math days… this week i am learning something completely new that i have never seen before… and let me say i don’t like math as a class… because #1 unless it is applied i have a more difficult time understanding it and #2 functions! i vaguely remember functions from my highscool days… none of it do i remember besides f(x)=x^2*3x+2 if x=2 then you replace all x’s in the equation with 2… what threw me for a loop and i didn’t remember is that y=f(x)… this being made all the more difficult by the fact that our instructor ran out of time before being able to cover functions! so i basically have to self teach myself functions and figure it out…
cvpcs and i have managed to get one incredible for us to dev on, and it came to me… we are supposed to be getting a second one on loan from dandroid, the owner of droidforums.net… he has yet to provide a tracking number… i am trying pretty much anythign and everything that cvpcs throws at me and some things he is not… we are having hell getting touch events to register on the incredible… today i we tried removing gralloc to see if that was causing our problem… and it seemed that it was actually only masking the issue of the phone being unable to make the memmory… so we are back to square one… it’s frustrating… but we do what we can do and keep plugging along so that eventually we will get a working rom for all of the incredible owners out there… they deserve more support from the rom community than what they have gotten… of course aside from cyanogenmod and ourselves there really aren’t any from-source rom builders out there…
well today was my first day back at school in a few years, i still have one class to go but it is a night class which gives me time to make this site and make a post about my first class. I am in my first semester working towards a BS in Computer Science, i am taking only two classes to let myself get back into the swing of actually being in school. My class this morning was intro to computer programming with python: a multimedia approach (or something like that.) I have a feeling there will be times i am quite bored in the class, but i did ask for this as i have little to no actual foundation in the CS world and i wanted to be sure and start out with a strong foundation to build upon. Tonight is my math class, pre-cal.. blah… i have always had issues with pure math classes due to it’s theoretical nature it tends to confuse me unlike when it is applied in something like say chemistry i do much better.
i really need to work on some more of this site to add categories so people can read whatever they want about whichever subject they want. coming soon: categories
